The Olmsted Network — a national nonprofit devoted to preserving, celebrating, and sharing the legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted, America’s first landscape architect, and his son, Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. — has curated a wonderful gallery of original Olmsted drawings and more on Flickr. Flickr, the world’s largest collection of Creative Commons–licensed images, brings together photographs from countless sources, making it easy to explore and discover. Within their Flickr collection, the Olmsted Network’s gallery offers a rich array of images related to the Olmsteds and the early landscape design plans for Forest Hills Gardens. Take a moment to browse through the early planning documents, blueprints and photographs of completed projects — it’s a captivating window into the artistry and vision that shaped our community.
